Girls in Space

Overview

On June 16, 1963 Valentina Tereshkova, the first women in space launched aboard Vostok 6. Athough she was from the Soviet Union she has inspired many other wmen from other conties and her own.

Sally Ride

Sally ride was the first women in America to enter space. On June 18, 1983 Sally launched into space aboard Space Suttle Challenger on the mission STS-7.

Today

Because of these women and many others, around 56 women have been in space. They also helped women be more accepted in STEM and other science feilds.
